Our Learn and Fish tours are tailored to meet your objectives and goals whatever they may be. All our tours are operated with a guide to a maximum of two (2) clients which enhances not only catch success rates, but offers personalised service and accelerated learning.
Learn and Fish tours are all inclusive, Reel Fly Fishing supply all equipment required such as, Rods, Flies, Waders and Boots (you are welcome to bring and use your own).
Reel Fly Fishing supplies a catered morning tea, bottled water, cans of soft drink and a catered gourmet sandwich pack from Passionate Palate.
The Day
Discussion on rods, the basics and mechanics and set up.
Casting lesson/s (1 - 1.5 hours) prior to morning tea, over morning we will discuss the flies we use (when, where, why). Line, leader and tippet sets we use (when, where, why) this will include some basic knot tying.
On the leisurely stroll to the river we will discuss the fish, where they “should” be and why, along with some basic river craft and wading safety.
Whilst fishing for 4-5 hours we will discuss fishing tactics and look at some different casting variations.
The Learn and Fish tour is designed to to give newcomers a broad overview of fly fishing rivers, streams and creeks.
